Connect your AI to GeneaGenie

Connect your AI and research your ancestors through a conversation — searching, analysing, and combining with your existing data.

GeneaGenie supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard that lets AI assistants talk directly to external services. Once connected, you can simply ask your AI to search for an ancestor, and it will use GeneaGenie to find and analyse matches across our archives — no need to open the website.

How to connect

1

Make sure you have a GeneaGenie account

You need a GeneaGenie account with at least a few credits. MCP searches cost 1 credit per individual. Sign up here if you don't have an account yet.

Log in when prompted

The first time you use GeneaGenie through your AI, you'll be asked to log in with your GeneaGenie account. This keeps your searches and credits private to you.

4

Start asking!

That's it. Now just tell your AI what you're looking for:

"Search for Jan De Smedt, born around 1850 in Ghent"
"Find my great-grandmother Marie Dupont from France, died before 1920"
"I have an Excel file with 12 ancestors — search for all of them and fill in the missing birth and death dates from the results"
