We use session cookies. These cookies are temporary and are stored only while you are browsing our site. They are essential for the website's operation (e.g., keeping you logged in or maintaining user preferences during a single session).
Spam protection (Google reCAPTCHA)
Our sign-up form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA to prevent automated abuse. When you use that form, Google may process technical data such as your IP address and browser characteristics. Your data may only be disclosed in the following cases:

These third parties only have access to your data to the extent necessary to perform these tasks on our behalf and are contractually bound to maintain the confidentiality of your information.

Retention
We retain your personal data (name, email) for as long as your user account is active or as long as necessary to provide our services to you. If you delete your account, we will also delete your personal data, unless we are legally required to retain it.
Storing your GEDCOM file is entirely optional. When you choose to upload your GEDCOM in the Family tree section, we retain it in your private account until you delete it. If you run a search without storing your GEDCOM, the file is permanently deleted from our servers as soon as the search is completed, and only the matching data is kept in your private account.
6. Your GDPR rights
In accordance with the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification: Request the correction of any inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten"): Request the deletion of your personal data.
